YOUTUBE AND CONVERSION
USING Youtube.com is more difficult but still easy.
The movie we saw that was called "Oops" was made with downloaded home movies from Youtube. You can download and covert them with online conversion tools such as Dirpy.

Dirpy.com is a useful online resource for Downloading and Converting Youtube and sometimes, Vimeo. There are other effective online converters- you are welcome to use any you wish.

For editing in FCPX you want to convert to .mov (quicktime) files as much as possible. Other files can be converted- just tick the box that tells FCPX to 'transcode' on import. If you have the option, edit in "Pro Res 422" to gain the highest quality color.

For files that FCPX "won't recognize," convert them first with MPEG Streamclip. This application is on all NMC (New Media Center) computers. If you need it at home, it is available free at
